I went to San Francisco Fashion Merchandising School straight out of high school. I graduated in 1979 and started working as an accessory and display manager for a popular furniture store. I have always found myself loving and working at displaying furniture in stores. I stopped from 1982 to 1993 while I raised two children. When my son was in kindergarten I began to work again. I found my way to Elegant Clutter in Danville where I really thrived in the environment of an award winning accessory store. While I was there I learned from the best in the business. There is an art to placing pieces in a home. Balancing heights and textures, mixing pieces so that they go together in a grouping. I have to say it is this ability to accessorize that separates me from others in the design business.
I am part owner of a design group in San Ramon. Our offices are located in the building next to the San Ramon DVC campus. We have an entire office full of thousands of fabrics, upholstery fabrics and samples for window treatments and shutters. Catalogs of furniture and accessories that allow us to find just the right pieces for our clients. We are always adding to our library, going to the Las Vegas furniture show in February, and North Carolina in April. Staying on top of the trends and learning about what is new in the business.
On a personal level, I am on the board of the Athletic Booster club at College Park high school, and I'm also the team mom for my son's varsity football team.
